PolySub ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

1. Data We Collect

  • Uploaded media files. Audio/video files you upload are processed to generate subtitles and are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after transcription finishes.
  • Contact and waitlist emails. If you join the waitlist or email us, we store your address to respond or notify you.
  • Payment information. Purchases are handled by Waffo Pancake, our merchant of record. We never see or store your full card number; Waffo Pancake shares only order details with us.
  • Usage data. We may collect anonymized, aggregate information (e.g. pages visited, feature usage) to improve the Service.
  • Local browser storage. Your free-tier credits and license key are stored in your own browser's localStorage — never on our servers.

2. What We Never Do

  • We never sell your personal data.
  • We never use your uploaded files to train machine-learning models.
  • We never keep your source media files after processing.

3. Third-Party Processors

We share data only with the processors needed to run the Service:

  • OpenAI — transcription and translation of your uploads.
  • Vercel — hosting and file storage (Vercel Blob).
  • Waffo Pancake — payments and tax handling.

Each processes data under its own privacy policy and our data-processing terms.

4. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary browser storage (e.g. remembering your credits and license key). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

Uploaded media: deleted immediately after processing. Support emails: kept as long as needed to resolve your request. Anonymized usage statistics: kept in aggregate form only.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR in the EU/UK and CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email us at coreyuab@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will reflect changes, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
